Rising, or even better to say evolving from the most common matter that often teaches us despair until we evolve- Love.

– „Издигане”…  над какво?
– Издигане над света, над самите нас и над всичко, което пречи на творческата личност, която живее във всички хора.

– “Rising”… above what? – Rising above the world, above ourselves and above everything that hinders the creative personality that lives in all people.

Виктор Иванов

Bulgarian poet Viktor Ivanov wrote his poem book out of pure desperate love mixed with all those dark emotions all our teenage souls struggle with within the most vulnerable time in our lives. In making mistakes sometimes intentionally sometimes not we push our exploring particularly curious about everything life has to offer and hide, suspicious minds. A young man in love with life barely keeps focus on one thing and just cannot settle his curiosity, it is a rather speeding heart and mind, hungry for more eclectic impulses he wishes to follow so much. He’s a vivid, he’s a loud waterfall of a stream that cannot (and should not) be tied up at this time.

But Viktor experienced the loss of what seemed to be his first true love, or more to say his first stable thing that showed up at the wrong time in his scandalous young life. His stability was in a form of an older than him young woman, who was calm and focused, opposite from the young guy who was still led by impulses. As you can see it is a typical story we can hear from many men. The stability was a good thing, but it felt more like a motherly, soothing home. And you cannot be a mother to your boyfriend, can you…

мигът
в който Бог създаде човека
от крилете си

сенките
птиците и всички слънца
светеха в ръцете ми
като звезди

на небето
настъпи студена тишина

а аз и ти
се издигахме

Тhe moment
in which God created man
from his wings

the shadows
the birds and all the suns
glowed in my hands
like stars

in the sky
started a cold silence

and both me and you
were rising

There is darkness following like a riddle, like shadows in his poetry. Meaning, it’s not only a love story through which one man rises and evolves. Further, a young man goes through revelation, he matures. The past has had to happen he thinks to himself. The old himself had to die or otherwise, he would have never exited that loop of emotional chaos. Family issues like illness, unclear stories, and shadows from the past are riddles he answered to himself in this poetry book. Don’t we all have such a “folder” at the back of our minds? Don’t we all rise to strong, loving people that stop looking behind? Life is divided like shelves. At the bottom you keep old family albums, and at the highest shelves are your memories from the travels you made on your own. You are the one capable of leading, leaving shadows behind, and choosing to become the best version of yourself.

This book is all about real, raw emotions that we all women and men go through. This book is a perfect cleanse of dysfunctional beliefs we are born into. This is for those who would like to “sober up” from unfocused, “forever Peter Pan” lives. This is for taking a deep breath and giving life a new smile.
